Hello YDC Dance Family,
I hope everyone is staying healthy and sane during our time apart. I miss you all and can’t wait to get back to dancing.
I’ve been working with our studio faculty to create some online content for you to keep on moving during this unprecedented time. In the upcoming week, I’ll be sending out a link to our studio YouTube channel, which will be updated weekly with recital choreography, special steps of the week, stretches and other dance related activities to keep your dancers engaged and moving.
We will also be posting social media challenges and ways you can catch live classes with our teachers, so be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for more details.
We are hopefully that this situation will turn around quickly, but are anticipating the studio closure being extended. For that reason, we will move to “donation based tuition” for the month of April. We understand the financial burden this puts on so many families, and while online content is great, it does not replace physical classes. We appreciate your support in this difficult time. If you are able to make a payment, please mail it to:

We are exploring options for taking payments via Venmo, and will update if that becomes an option.
So what happens next?
Our plan is to extend our regular season into July, and are exploring options for moving our recital to the beginning of August. The situation seems to be changing by the minute, but YDC is committed to looking forward. We will find a way to keep dancing. The show must go on.

MESSAGE FROM YOSEMITE DANCE COMPANY ON COVID-19
March 14, 2020
Dear Yosemite Dance Company Families;
First & foremost, I would like to thank everyone in advance for their understanding and encouragement while we navigate this public health crisis. This last week has been filled with an overwhelming amount of emotion and challenges. We are beyond grateful to have the most incredible dance families.
The health and safety of our dancers and families is of the utmost importance to us. After a lot of discussion and careful consideration, Yosemite Dance Company has made the following decisions in response to COVID-19:
Yosemite Dance Company will follow the lead of the schools in the area and will be closed Monday, March 16 through Sunday, March 29th.
At this time, we plan to re-open Monday, March 30th.
To compensate you for the missed studio time, YDC will remain OPEN during our originally scheduled spring break week; April 10-17 with the exception of Sunday, April 12th (Easter) & Monday, April 13th. We will also run classes the week following recital, June 22-27, 2020.
Should closures be extended, we will provide additional information.
For anyone interested, we will be booking private lessons in the upcoming week (3/16-3/22). All privates will be scheduled 15 minutes apart to give us time to wipe down surfaces and equipment between dancers. If you are interested in booking a private lesson, feel free to contact us in a separate email. Private lesson are $40.00 per hour plus a $15.00 studio fee. During this 2-week period, we will waive the studio fee. Private lessons will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
PLAN OF ACTION FOLLOWING OUR RETURN TO CLASSES:
Following the two week closure, and until the global health crisis is under control, Yosemite Dance Company will continue to take extra precautions to keep our students, families and staff safe. We are vigilant about keeping the studio germ free by sanitizing studio surfaces on a daily basis, and wiping down all high touch areas between classes. In addition to following the CDC guidelines and recommendations, we ask that dancers and parents commit to the following:
If you feel sick, stay home. If someone in your household is ill, please do not send your dancer to the studio.
Only one spectator per dancer for our younger students. Parents of older dancers, please wait for your child in your car.
Temperatures will be taken at the door. Anyone with a temperature over 99 degrees will be denied entry.
Every dancer must wash their hands before and after each class.
No hugs, high fives, or fist bumps. Air hugs only. Avoid any unnecessary contact.
Come ready to dance and leave immediately after class.
No sharing water bottles.
Please be sure your emergency contact information is up to date.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. Again, thank you for your support in this uncertain time.
Stay healthy. We love you.
